Electronic Stability Control and CarSim
The roll out of CarSim 7 marks the introduction of the most powerful vehicle dynamics application on the market to date. Because of this, we have begun to post more information and examples which highlight the versatility of all of our products to enable you to get your job done faster and easier.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has established FMVSS 126, a new standard that will require all vehicles 4,536 Kg (10,000 pounds) or less to include an Electronic Stability Control (ESC) system as standard equipment starting in 2012 (phase in starting in 2010).
For a more detailed description of this example please go to our website. In addition, a technical memo describing how the series of tests in FMVSS 126 can be set up in CarSim to enable a one-click run option to obtain a quick idea of how the simulated system would perform in the FMVSS 126 test has also been created. Click here to view the tech memo (10-page PDF file).
