How to Get Your Linux Host ID

You can obtain an evaluation copy for most of our software products. The agent for your region will provide a full, working copy for your evaluation.

Our software requires a license key in support of FLEXlm technologies. A typical key allows one computer unlimited use of the software for some period of time.

Before you can evaluate the software, you will need to provide the code for your machine by running a utility program to get a unique ID number for your computer.

  1. Click here to download hostid.tar.gz
  2. Extract the tar.gz file from a terminal, in the same folder/directory as the tar.gz file, issue the command : tar -zxvf hostid.tar.gz
  3. Type ./HostID and press enter to get your unique ID number.
