Mechanical Simulation to Exhibit at IDGA Military Vehicle Expo

August 11-12, 2009 Cobo Hall in Detroit, Michigan

Booth 251

Mechanical Simulation staff will exhibit TruckSim and CarSim applications for military vehicles at the upcoming IDGA exhibition at Cobo Hall in Detroit. The web site for this event is: http://www.militaryvehiclesexpo.com/.

As the developer of the world’s most validated vehicle dynamics model for simulating the performance of passenger vehicles, heavy trucks, and motor bikes, Mechanical Simulation will demonstrate and discuss a wide variety of engineering and training applications for simulating military vehicles. Sample CarSim and TruckSim applications include:

  • Evaluate vehicles and vehicle systems (brakes, suspensions, powertrains, payload capacities, etc.) early in the design process.
  • Demonstrate and document vehicle performance metrics to decision makers before the vehicle is delivered. CarSim and TruckSim can execute all standard vehicle tests on a virtual proving ground.
  • Evaluate hybrid powertrains by integrating TruckSim and CarSim with advanced powertrain tools such as PSAT from Argonne National Labs.
  • Develop active systems such as ABS, stability control, and emerging active safety technologies by integrating our simulation tools with MatLab/Simulink or other control design tools.
  • Use a Mechanical Simulation based driving simulator to conduct driver training. Uses for fixed-based or motion-based simulators include: familiarizing inexperienced drivers with new vehicles, performing mission simulations, and teaching high performance driving maneuvers.
  • Run CarSim or TruckSim in a real-time system to develop a Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) laboratory. HIL labs let engineers test specific vehicle systems or ECUs without requiring test vehicles, test drivers, or trips to a remote proving ground.

If you are unable to attend the exhibition but would like to discuss a specific application for military vehicles, please send an email with your contact information and a short description of your project to: info@carsim.com.
