Thomas D. Gillespie Opens 19th International Colloquium SAE Brazil in Caxias do Sul

Mechanical Simulation's co-founder, Thomas Gillespie, Ph.D., a leading author and researcher in vehicle dynamics, will open the sixth International Colloquium SAE BRAZIL Slurry and Road Equipment & Engineering Showcase, which will be held 19-21 May at the Convention Center Intercity Premium Caxias do Sul, SR. In his May 19th presentation, “Overview of Commercial Vehicle Dynamics,” Dr. Gillespie will introduce the latest in suspension systems technology and new materials for road equipment. The meeting is organized by the Section of SAE Caxias do Sul BRAZIL.

Dr. Gillespie is a professor at the University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute (UMTRI) and author of books like the best-selling “The Fundamentals of Vehicle Dynamics” from SAE International. He began his career at Ford Motor Company and then joined the University of Michigan, where he taught vehicle dynamics, automotive engineering and design of integrated vehicle systems to thousands of students and engineers. Dr. Gillespie is one of the founders of Mechanical Simulation Corporation, Ann Arbor, Mich., USA, which specializes in the advanced software programs CarSim, TruckSim and BikeSim, simulating the dynamics behavior of passenger cars, trucks and motorcycles.
