Mechanical Simulation Corporation Partners with ETAS in Testing and Simulation
ANN ARBOR, Mich. - To provide complete testing and validation environments for a wide range of simulation models, Mechanical Simulation Corporation has joined in a partnership with ETAS Group, Ann Arbor, Mich.
This partnership features Mechanical Simulation’s CarSim® and BikeSim®, as well as other vehicle simulation products. CarSim is used by engineers in design, development, testing and planning activities for simulating the dynamic vehicle behavior of cars, light trucks and utility vehicles. BikeSim® is vehicle dynamics software that analyzes a wide range of vehicle responses to such rider inputs as control, steering, suspension, lean, braking, tire dynamics and throttle. The system also incorporates such environmental factors as aerodynamics, road geometry and friction for a variety of simulations.
CarSim and BikeSim are integrated with ETAS’ ASCET product for full functionality. ASCET enhances the capability of simulation software, enabling reusability and increasing its efficiency. ETAS’ LABCAR hardware-in-the-loop system is used to support Mechanical Simulation’s test and validation software, as well as diagnostic software, and can cover the complete validation path.
“We’re very pleased to be working with ETAS products in combination with our simulation software,” said Mechanical Simulation President Terry Rhoades. “We can offer realtime testing as well as the complete range of test and validation environments. We’ve assembled the entire testing and analysis package so it’s much more convenient for our customers.”
Established in 2003 through the merger of ETAS, Vetronix and LiveDevices, the ETAS Group supplies a comprehensive portfolio of standardized development and diagnostic tools that cover the complete development and service life cycles of electronic control units in today’s automobiles.
Mechanical Simulation Corporation is a technology leader in the development and distribution of advanced software used to simulate vehicle performance under a wide variety of conditions. Established in 1996, its Ann Arbor, Mich., headquarters provides car, truck and motorcycle simulation packages, training and ongoing support to more than 20 OEMs, over 30 Tier 1 suppliers and more than 60 universities and government research groups worldwide.
