Mechanical Simulation Corporation Celebrates 25 Years in Business
ANN ARBOR, Mich., April 7, 2021 - A company's 25th anniversary is considered a major milestone. This is no exception for Mechanical Simulation Corporation. The work that Dr. Michael W. Sayers did on his PhD is the technology on which the company was established. Dr. Sayers is one of the company's original founders and remains an active member of the organization, as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Technology Officer.
Officially opening its doors on 3 April 1996, Mechanical Simulation's vehicle dynamics software immediately changed how the industry prototyped, designed and tested vehicles. CarSim and TruckSim quickly became familiar names in the industry.
Many things have changed over the years. This 25-year-old company is no longer five people working in a basement. The company headquarters has moved three times, expanded internationally, and produced dozens of software releases. On-road vehicles in the mobility industry have gotten controllers, electric powertrains, and most recently they can see the world around them with an array of sensors. However, one thing that has not changed is Mechanical Simulation's goal: to be the leader in the development of advanced software used to simulate vehicle behavior. Mechanical Simulation provides car, truck and motorcycle simulation packages worldwide to more than 200 OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers, hundreds of universities and government research groups, and the software is used on hundreds of driving simulators.
"On
its 25th birthday, Mechanical Simulation Corporation continues to grow, innovate and pioneer in an industry that constantly accelerates vehicle development requirements," noted Terence J. Rhoades, President.
Mechanical Simulation Corporation just finished one of the company's best fiscal years despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. The company looks forward to celebrating its silver anniversary with all of its customers, colleagues, family, and friends; and looks forward to continuing to serve the community that made it what it is today.
